The Opportunity

You'll be working closely with an experienced Assistant Director, making this a great development opportunity to strengthen your APS career.
The Role
Key responsibilities include:
- Undertaking financial reporting and internal budgeting activities related to the department’s Budget
- Monitoring and tracking capital NPPs (New Policy Proposals) and coordinating information for the external budget Movement of Funds process
- Leading coordination of the Agency Budget Submission and contributing to improvements in external budget tasks
- Contributing to and supporting the implementation of enhanced financial policies and reporting capabilities
You are an experienced accountant with a solid understanding of budgeting and forecasting. Ideally, you have knowledge of budgeting principles within the APS.
You’re likely to come from one of the following backgrounds:
- Experience in a Big 4 or consulting firm, working with Federal Government clients on accounting or finance-related engagements
- Experience in a large commercial organisation as a Management Accountant
- APS6-level experience in internal or external budgeting, with a stable work history and a track record of strong performance
Salary / Rate
- $80k - $108k + 15.4% Super
