Role Title: DevOps Engineer

Clearance Required: TSPV Clearance (Defence Intelligence Security Assessment mandatory)

Contract Type: 12-month contract with potential extensions

Job Description

Multiple positions are available across SFIA Levels 3, 4, and 5 for Software Developers and DevOps Engineers. These roles are embedded within high-security programs supporting Defence Intelligence initiatives. The successful candidates will work in classified environments to design, develop, and sustain enterprise-grade systems, applying DevSecOps methodologies to uphold performance, compliance, and security.

Duties and Responsibilities

• Design, prototype, and maintain systems within a DevSecOps lifecycle

• Execute deployment strategies and ensure software meets compliance frameworks

• Manage and resolve Level 2 and Level 3 support incidents

• Conduct ongoing software assessments and documentation reviews

• Contribute technical leadership for tooling, architecture and process improvement

• Facilitate stakeholder engagement and guide cross-functional delivery teams

• Mentor junior developers in secure coding, agile delivery, and architecture principles

• Deliver scalable solutions aligned with Defence operational objectives

Education/Certifications Required

• Tertiary qualifications in Software Engineering, Computer Science or equivalent

• Alternatively, completed certifications via recognised technical academies

• Defence project experience considered highly favourable

Knowledge/Skills Required

• Advanced understanding of DevSecOps principles, tools, and automation pipelines

• Solid background in object-oriented programming and secure system development

• Strong leadership across agile development and team coaching

• Proficient in the following technologies:

  • Languages & Frameworks: JavaScript, Cesium JS, Ozone Widget Framework

  • DevOps Tools: GitLab, AWS, Kubernetes, GDAL, containerisation

  • Databases: Oracle, PostgreSQL

  • Collaboration Tools: Atlassian suite including JIRA and Confluence

  • Documentation & Assessment: Microsoft Office and technical reporting platforms
