Job Manager-Business Perspectives, Canberra

The newly formed Business Perspectives Section in Austrade's Government and Policy Division will focus on leveraging Austrade's global network to bring unique, well targeted business and commercial perspectives to our core export promotion and support role, our investment facilitation function, and to the forefront of related Government policy.
As the first Manager of this new team, you will lead the work to deliver a suite of products to harness commercial perspectives and identify trends in a complex and rapidly changing world. You will contribute to identifying risks and opportunities for Australia and distil facts and insights in an often crowded and contested information environment. Leading a small team, you will consult across Austrade and external stakeholders to co-design the framework and processes to maximise the value of these perspectives. These insights will be used across the organisation to inform strategy and support for businesses seeking to grow export trade or investment and contribute to whole of Government policy deliberations.



The key duties of the position include

• Lead delivery of distinctive and tested analysis and products targeted to meet the needs of different audiences, including Australian exporters, prospective investors, Austrade clients, internal Senior Australian Public Service leaders and Ministers.
• Leading, mentoring and nurturing a team to achieve results to a high standard.
• Build and maintain productive relationships and networks and collaborate effectively within Austrade both in Australia and overseas, and with other government agencies and relevant external stakeholders.
• Represent Austrade in whole-of-government processes and support the Senior Executive in policy deliberations that impact trade, investment and visitor economy outcomes.
