About the role
We have a rare opportunity for a 1st year or 2nd year Maintenance Apprentice, to join our supportive and experienced team at our Coopers Plains manufacturing plant.
Reporting to the Maintenance Manager, you will play a key role in supporting the safe, reliable, and efficient operation of our production equipment and machinery. You’ll gain hands-on experience across both planned maintenance activities and breakdown response, while working in a collaborative, continuous improvement environment.
What you’ll learn
This apprenticeship will build on your existing training and provide valuable exposure to:
Hydraulics and pneumatics
Extrusion equipment
Preventative and reactive maintenance practices
Manufacturing plant systems and processes
You’ll work alongside skilled tradespeople who will mentor and support your development throughout your apprenticeship.
What you’ll be doing
Assisting with planned maintenance and repair work
Supporting breakdown response activities
Learning to diagnose faults and implement effective solutions
Contributing to continuous improvement initiatives
Prioritising work requests entered in the CMMS maintenance system
Maintain a strong focus on safety, quality and best practice standards
Attend and complete all tertiary requirements for the duration of your apprenticeship.
About you
To be successful in this role you will:
Satisfy the requirements for commencing a Maintenance/Mechanical Fitter apprenticeship or currently completing a Fitter apprenticeship
Possess excellent written and verbal communication skills
Sound decision-making, organisation and time management skills
Can work well on your own or in at team and able to use your initiative
Safety focused with good attention to detail
Punctual, reliable, personable with a good work ethic, flexible and a can-do attitude
Enjoy working hands on with an interest in mechanical tasks and processes
Comfortable working in a manufacturing environment with manual handling
Are an Australian Citizen or Permanent Resident
Car and Driver’s Licence (desirable)
