Description:

We are seeking a talented individual to join our MMA Placement team at Marsh Risk as a Placement Broker working in our Melbourne office. This is a hybrid role that has a requirement of working at least three days a week in the office.

We will count on you to:

  • Assess client risk and leverage carrier/industry knowledge to develop placement solutions that meet client needs.

  • Implement placement strategy to support growth targets and deliver exceptional client service.

  • Coordinate with advisors, client executives, carriers, and underwriters to submit coverage specifications, obtain and evaluate quotes, and select the best carrier options.

  • Document all activities in the system to ensure timely follow-up and clear handoffs across the client team and carriers.

  • Monitor and communicate market and underwriting developments that affect coverage and pricing to client executives and advisors.

What you need to have:

  • Minimum 3 – 5 years general insurance broking or underwriting.

  • Strong knowledge of market practices, pricing dynamics, and underwriting policies across relevant product lines.

  • Demonstrated experience managing submissions and obtaining carrier quotes within a brokerage/agency placement environment.

  • Excellent documentation, organization, and CRM follow-up skills to track activity and drive next steps.

  • Clear verbal and written communication skills and a client-service mindset for collaborating with internal teams and external partners.

  • Ability to work independently as an established individual contributor and make decisions that impact team outcomes.

  • Casualty Placement or Casualty Underwriting experience.

  • Experience across products including, but not limited to ISR, Casualty, Motor and Marine.

  • Established relationships with carriers and underwriters that support competitive placements.

  • Proven ability to anticipate and explain changing market conditions and their implications for client coverage and pricing.
