The Role
The full time Mixed Crop Farmer will be responsible for assisting in the operational management and improvement of farms to ensure maximum yields and quality is met. Responsible for the day to day management of a mixed/vegetable crop farm reporting to the General Manager (Farms). You will oversee the full ground preparation, planting, growing and harvesting process and work as a senior member in conjunction with our agronomy team to ensure their recommendations and inputs are effective.
Your Tasks
* Manage all operations associated with the crop growing season including:
* Pivot moving
* Ground preparation
* Planting
* Fertilizing
* Spraying
* Harvesting
* Grading
* Inspection of pivots to apply the correct level of water for moisture of growing and harvesting crops.
* Plan and carry out seeding, growing and harvesting.
* Order parts for machinery repairs, ensuring competitive pricing.
* Maintain workplace, health and safety standards and to adhere to company policies and procedures at all times.
Your Skills and Experience:
-You will have proven experience in the operational management of a mixed/vegetable crop farm.
-You will have good communication skills which will enable you to liaise with farm managers, agronomists and other team members.
-You will possess strong attention to detail and have passion and pride in the quality of your work.
-5 years of relevant experience is desirable.
You will be paid between $76,500-$85,000 p.a + superannuation
