DESCRIPTION:
Join our team as a Project Delivery Manager at Thermo Fisher Scientific, where you'll guide initiatives that drive business transformation and operational excellence. In this role, you'll oversee complex, cross-functional projects from inception through delivery, focusing on transitions, process improvements, system implementations, and change management programs. Working with stakeholders across our organization, you'll support portfolio goals while building and developing teams. Your experience will contribute to implementing best practices, fostering innovation, and promoting continuous improvement aligned with our mission to enable our customers to make the world healthier, cleaner, and safer.

Position Summary:

As Project Delivery Manager where you are the Manager – Project Management, the responsibility is to lead the site’s project management function to ensure all customer projects are delivered on time, within scope, and within margin expectations.

This role drives project execution excellence, supports pre-sales activities, and ensures revenue realization and cash flow performance for the site. The position will also champion continuous improvement and stakeholder alignment across commercial, engineering, and operations teams.

Key Responsibilities:

Leadership & Team Management

  • Lead, coach, and develop a team of Project Managers to deliver high performance and consistency.

  • Establish clear goals, KPIs, and accountability for project delivery, margin, and customer satisfaction.

  • Foster a culture of ownership, collaboration, and continuous improvement.

  • Provide mentoring and escalation support for complex or high-risk projects.

Project Delivery Excellence

  • Ensure all projects are executed in line with agreed scope, timelines, quality standards, and financial targets.

  • Oversee project planning, scheduling, and execution to meet contractual requirements.

  • Monitor project performance across schedule, cost, risks, and deliverables.

  • Ensure robust project governance, documentation, and reporting standards are maintained.

  • Drive proactive risk management and timely resolution of issues, resource constraints, and conflicts.

  • Maintain accurate project management data to minimize inventory misses and accounting errors etc.

Financial & Revenue Responsibility

  • Own site-level revenue realization and margin performance across all projects.

  • Ensure accurate project costing, forecasting, and financial reporting in ERP systems.

  • Monitor project profitability and take corrective actions as .

  • Approve and oversee scope changes, variation orders, and budget amendments.

  • Collaborate with Finance and Commercial teams to optimize cash flow and billing milestones.

Pre-Sales & Commercial Support

  • Support pre-sales activities including project scoping, cost estimation, scheduling, and risk assessment.

  • Collaborate with Sales and Engineering to ensure proposals are commercially viable and executable.

  • Provide input into contract negotiation, ensuring alignment between customer expectations and delivery capability.

  • Review and validate scope of work before project initiation.

Stakeholder & Customer Management

  • Build strong relationships with key customers and stakeholders.

  • Ensure customer expectations are managed and exceeded through proactive communication.

  • Participate in key customer meetings including project kick-offs, reviews, and escalations.

  • Ensure timely submission of all project deliverables, documentation, and compliance requirements.

Cross-Functional Collaboration

  • Work closely with Engineering to ensure timely and accurate Bill of Materials (BOM) and technical deliverables.

  • Liaise with Procurement, Operations, and Supply Chain to ensure material availability and delivery timelines.

  • Partner with Commercial and Finance teams on pricing, cost tracking, and financial outcomes.

Process Improvement & Governance

  • Drive Practical Process Improvement (PPI) initiatives across project management processes.

  • Utilize RCCM (Root Cause Counter Measure) tools to address performance gaps.

  • Standardize project management tools, templates, and workflows.

  • Ensure compliance with company policies, regulatory requirements, and industry standards.

Minimum Requirements/Qualifications:

Qualifications & Experience

  • Bachelor’s degree in Mechanical, Mechatronics, Electrical, or Electronic Engineering, or related field (preferred)

  • 6+ years' extensive experience in project management within an industrial or engineering environment

  • Proven leadership experience managing project teams

  • Strong commercial and financial acumen

  • Experience with ERP systems and project costing

  • Knowledge of shipping terminology, bank guarantee and letter of credit is ideal.

  • Sound knowledge of contract terms and conditions is ideal.
