Description of the job
The Workplan officer reports to the Assistant Director, Property Reporting & Compliance and supports the Workplan team by coordinating the assessment, collation and tracking of building maintenance reports. It is responsible for escalating building functionality issues as required. The role involves liaising with internal stakeholders across Property Services & Operations and Leasing, Customer and Asset branches, as well as external stakeholders including ACT Government Directorates, building owners, tenants and contractors to support maintenance activities.
Strong organisational, time management and communication skills are essential, along with proficiency in Microsoft Office, Adobe, inbox management, and data and records management systems. The role may also provide administrative support for procurement and contract management processes, including document preparation and tracking
The role contributes to the efficient operation of the Property Services & Operations Branch, which plays a vital role in supporting ACT Government and community services through expert property management and maintenance. The Branch manages a diverse portfolio of buildings and facilities, ensuring they remain safe, functional and fit-for-purpose. It delivers flexible and cost-effective accommodation solutions for government operations and provides affordable properties to community organisations to support service delivery. Operating on a fee-for-service basis, the Branch is also responsible for returning a dividend to government.

Eligibility/Other requirements:
- Qualification/s in business, administration or property related areas are desirable.
- A current driver’s licence (car)
- Workplace Health and Safety Induction (White Card) or willingness to obtain General Construction Induction Card (White Card)
- Knowledge and experience in Property/Facilities management are desirable but not essential.
Notes: This is a temporary position available immediately until 30 June 2026 with the possibility of extension up to 12 months and/or permanency.
A Merit Pool will be established from this selection process and will be used to fill vacancies over the next 12 months. Selection may be based on application and referee reports only.
This position is based in an activity-based working (ABW) environment. Under ABW arrangements, officers will not have a designated workstation/desk.
